Die toentertydse redakteur, Giel Rossouw skryf: "Hier is ons eerste nuusbrief - nog in sy kinderskoene en bes moontlik mank aan gebreke - maar met die vooruitsig dat hy van krag tot krag sal vorder wanneer u bydraes ontvang word."
Sommer in hierdie eerste uitgawe verskyn 'n berig waarin die Bestuurskomitee "met spyt moet aankondig dat heffings vanaf 1 Augustus 1996 verhoog moet word."
The report continues in English, "The inevitable increase has further been brought about by the astronomical increase in water consumption since January of this year."
The Renaissance newsletter is alive and well in 2014, and flourishing under the editorship of John Scheepers.

It is interesting to note that the editorial of the December 2013 issue deals with the excessive consumption of water by residents. The more things change the more they stay the same!
