We welcome new resident, Tom Robson

Tom Robson
Although one could easily mistake Tom Robson (77) for a Scotsman due to his accent, he is actually a born and bred Geordie. Geordie is a nickname for a person from the town of Gateshead in the Tyneside area of North East England, and the dialect used by its inhabitants.

After completing his school career at Whitehall Rd. School, he was apprenticed to Messrs Clarke Chapman in Gateshead where he eventually qualified as an electrical fitter.

In 1983 Tom moved to South Africa to assume a position with Escom in Middelburg. He eventually retired here at the age of 65.

Tom knows Bela-Bela pretty well having lived here on and off since 2006.

Due to personal circumstances he was obliged to find suitable accommodation, preferably in a retirement village. After a thorough search here and elsewhere, he decided that Unit 79 in our village meets most of his needs. The unit is compact, the residents are friendly and helpful, and the village security is superior to anything he came across elsewhere.

Tom has one son who lives in Krugersdorp.
