Hiermee wil ek my dank uitspreek teenoor die persone
CHAIRMAN’S LETTER
Since my last report, many positive and negative
things have taken place.
Bela-Bela still suffers from a severe water
problem. Apart from the many water leaks
and load-shedding, a further burden is water supply availability. Residents are constantly watering their
gardens, and I don't know their feelings towards other fellow town inhabitants
who suffer because of this.
I cannot speak on behalf of the Municipality or their
capabilities. Still, the water they can
purify between load-shedding periods are not sufficient to supply water to all
the points.
A tiny bit of caring will help other households not to
live without water for days, and a friendly request to Renaissance residents
are to be compassionate. I'm not
particularly eager to monitor all homes in Renaissance, but I call on your
integrity for cooperation.
The positive is that we can approach GOD and pray for
those in charge of affairs to receive the wisdom to take on the challenge and
that the workers will do quality work.
We also thank all the institutions that assisted with reporting and
repairing problems. It is greatly appreciated.
During a Management Committee meeting, the developer
mentioned the possibility of appointing a Village Manager. There will be scrutiny as to the feasibility
of this. The appointment can be an
expensive option, but the members who do it free of charge are often not
treated as kindly, which creates a negative attitude.
I would like to express my gratitude to the persons
and letters of appreciation from residents.
Thank you also to all the Management Committee’s members who stick
around and walk the extra mile to make the village a better place.
The KWA continues to be a concern. The Management Committee is in negotiations
to get the consumption readings lower.
We need the cooperation of all the residents. The idea is to break up the
village into blocks so that when the power is turned back on, all units will turn on simultaneously. In doing so, we can keep the KWA reading
lower. I don't underestimate your
intelligence, but some residents do not know how KWA is calculated. Once
load-shedding ends and appliances such as stoves, geysers, and other appliances
that use a lot of energy, are in use, that reading registers with the Municipal
meter box. For example, if the reading
registers 200, the village is rated on that reading. The bad thing about this is that it will be applicable
for the whole month. If anything else
happens and the calculation gets higher, the highest reading determines our
assessment. That's why we need your
cooperation to keep this reading as low as possible. Manage your power consumption, and it can
make a big difference.
