8. Ons spog met ons mense!

 Rina Steynberg (E105)

Ingrid and Philip van den Berg (U34)

Studying and photographing wildlife for many years, Philip and Ingrid with their son Heinrich, started compiling and publishing books on nature as far back as 2001. In 2003 they established the publishing company HPH Publishing. Before that, they spent some years visiting parks, writing and photographing for the magazine Timbila.

Books on parks such as Kruger, Addo, Kgalagadi and Pilanesberg have been extremely popular. These are comprehensive self-drive guides complete with maps, recommended routes and ratings to enhance wildlife experiences in the parks.

Other titles include Mammals of Southern Africa, Beautiful Deserts, Shades of Nature, South Africa the Big Picture, Wild Heritage KZN, Greater Kruger the Big Picture and several more.

HPH Publishing assist other wildlife photographers and authors to get published. The world renown Big Cat People, Jonathan and Angie Scott from Kenya are an example.

Although they are getting on in years (both over 80), they are still working together with their son because they enjoy it and feel they can still contribute towards making people aware of the beauty and wonders of nature.
