The Chairman of the Warmbad Renaissance Management Committee, WESSIE VAN DER WESTHUIZEN, writes: On behalf of the Management Committee, I would like to extend a warm welcome to new residents. We hope that your stay in Renaissance will be enjoyable. We invite you to take part in the village’s activitities, share your talents with us and provide your input with regard to where we can improve.
The discussions with the solar power contractor, Wade Walker, did not deliver a positive result (see my message for April 2022). They were unable to find an external source of finance that would ensure that we would not pay a higher tariff than pre-paid electricity. At the present time we are in discussions with the municipality about possible adjustments. However, a successful outcome cannot be guaranteed. I would like to assure residents that we are not sitting with folded arms, waiting for better days. Nothing will be done arbitrarily. Any decision will be tabled at a special general meeting or an annual general meeting.
Tans beleef ek self negatiewe gevolge ten opsigte van my sonkragwarmwaterstelsel.
In closing, Jan Brand’s maxim, “All will be well if everyone does his duty,” remains applicable today - also in our village. Brand was the fourth State President of the Republic of the Orange Free State from 1864 to 1888.
