Introduction

The purpose of this Bulletin is to inform residents about the most important issues that were dealt with at the Management Committee meeting held on 27 February 2014.

Rules of Conduct

Our "Gedragsreëls" is now available in English.

 

Financial matters

Our financial statements may be viewed in the administrative office.

 

Social Action

Various functions are being planned for this year. Corrie Pretorius has the details. The Social Action will be expanding their role to include the following: to extend an official welcome to new residents, to wish each resident a happy birthday, and to visit residents who are ill.

 

Internal garden service

The committee has affirmed the guidelines that were circulated on 5 December 2011. The circular dealt with the removal and pruning of trees in the village. Please read par 16.3 of the Rules of Conduct. The Management Committee wishes to emphasize that it will not agree to the removal of trees that shed leaves or berries.

 

Street names

In 1992 an ad hoc committee of the Management Committee proposed that our streets should be named after birds. Names were put forward, but nothing has transpired since. How do residents feel about it? Any ideas with regard to the practical implementation of the idea would be welcomed. For example, are residents prepared to have the signs made and erected? Obviously the project will be paid for from village funds.

 

Access to the minutes of Management Committee meetings

Unfortunately the minutes of Management Committee meetings may not be circulated due to the confidential nature of some of the issues that are dealt with. However, The Chairman and Secretary have been authorised to discuss selected content with individual residents.

Upgrading our computer system.

The administrative office is the heartbeat of our village. However, at the moment it is constrained by hopelessly outdated equipment. There is light in the tunnel, though. The village has recently entered into a contract with an internet service provider and Jacky's PC will be upgraded soon.

Our next newsletter will appear in March.

 

Security

The village security remains excellent.

 

Special General Meeting

Residents have already been informed that this meeting will take place on 27 March 2014. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the installation of water meters at Warmbad Renaissance.
