Renaissance in the Bushveld

The  heading of this story refers to the blog you are now reading.

The first story on Renaissance in the Bushveld (hereafter referred to as "the blog") was posted on 11 October 2013, seven months ago.

Since then the blog has shown significant growth, regularly consigning upbeat articles to cyberspace in Afrikaans and English about the retirement village of which we are justly proud.

To date 57 stories about the village and its residents have been posted to the "Home" page. The "Missie" page provides details of the purpose of the blog, while the "Bestuur" page displays pictures of the Management Committee. The Constitution of Warmbad Renaissance is to be found on the "Constitution" page and the Rules of Conduct, on the "Gedragsreëls" page. Read about the history of our village on the "History" page, a photographic overview of the village is to be found on the "Gallery" page, and units for sale or rent, on the "Eenhede Beskikbaar" page. Lastly, the "Bela Bela" page gives particulars of our town and its amenities.

By the way, the title of each page appears in the band below the picture of a Bushveld sunrise and may be accessed by clicking on the title that is selected. 

Since its inception, the blog has been visited more than 4 000 times, mostly by South Africans (3011), while visitors from the USA (697), Germany (104), Malaysia (68), New Zealand (40), the Ukraine (40), the Netherlands (23), Serbia (17), Ireland (14) and France (13), make up the rest of the viewership.

It must be pointed out that visits to the blog are often accidental and brief. The point, however, is people all over the world take note of our village, however fleeting.

On 10 November 2013 a facebook page was set up at https://www.facebook.com/bushveldliving as an extension of the blog. Blog postings are often replicated here. To date 47 South Africans, Irish, Australians and New Zealanders "like" the facebook page. Using the links provided they often access the blog to read the full story.
